We met Aurélien, the founder of All Tracks Concept, during the creation of the new green trail “Family Run.” Alongside his three friends working with him, they form a tight-knit team built on collaboration and versatility.
A TEAM, A SHARED VISION
Since the beginning, All Tracks has been actively involved in developing mountain biking in La Clusaz by creating and maintaining iconic trails such as the Loup trail and the Grenêche. Every year, the team returns to these routes to reshape, secure, and preserve their quality. Almost all the work is done manually, without excavators in most cases, following a handcrafted approach. For them, if the trail compacts well over time, it’s a sign of a job well done: turns remain intact, no break bumps appear, and water drains properly.
A NEW GREEN TRAIL DESIGNED FOR EVERYONE
The big highlight of this season is the green trail “Family Run”, created to offer an accessible, smooth, and fun experience. From May onwards, the team got to work transforming the terrain: removing vegetation, adding sifted soil to avoid rocks, and studying the slopes to ensure a gentle and safe descent. The result? A controlled gradient and an inclusive route—everything was designed to welcome both beginners and families.
A TECHNICAL AND NATURAL INTEGRATION
As with every project, designing the green trail required thorough upfront work: on-site surveys, computer modeling, and collaboration with the snow groomers and piste management teams. The main challenge? Integrating the route harmoniously into the natural terrain while considering winter constraints, such as the passage of groomers and the presence of snow cannons. This involved precise adjustments, including raising certain turns to prevent them from “sinking” into the ground.
WHAT’S NEXT?
The work doesn’t stop there. The team is now continuing their efforts on the Ferriaz trail, aiming to make it more enjoyable and smoother to ride. This involves re-leveling, securing the route, and removing loose stones. These essential improvements are all about maximizing rider enjoyment, no matter their skill level or riding style.
