The pitch
From the mass in period costumes to the evening meal, many animations punctuate the day. A strong symbol of the wealth of heritage that makes the pride of the Cluses, the Reblochon Festival is a day to live with family or friends.
Details
On the program:
• 10:00 a.m.: Outdoor Mass
• 11:15 a.m.: Musical aperitif. Kir provided by the Tourist Office and a musical serenade by the Cocktail des Montagnes
• Noon: Country-style lunch (Savoyard dishes, artisan cheese and charcuterie platters, tartiflettes, diots, potato fritters…)
• 2:30 p.m.: Grand Parade of floats and herds, accompanied by the Bell Ringers and Cocktail des Montagnes (starting at the Salon des Dames, passing through the church square, and ending at the Bossonnet).
• 4:00 PM: End of the parade
• 5:00 PM: Demonstration of cow milking and the making of farmhouse Reblochon.
• 6:00 PM: Folk dancing with the group Lou Socali
• 7:00 PM: Tree-felling demonstration
• 7:15 PM: Introduction of the jockeys
• 7:30 PM: Associations’ trifecta race
• 8:00 PM: Awards ceremony for the trifecta, sheep-weighing contest, and artisans’ raffle
• 8:30 PM: Concert featuring Sharewood
All day:
- Traditional bread baking in the Bossonnet communal oven
- Living history displays featuring old-time crafts (woodworking and wool processing)
- Hay pool for toddlers
- Sheep shearing
- Making roof shingles
- Tree felling
- Old-fashioned skiing…
- Sales of farm products (Reblochon, Chevrotin, Tomme, Abondance…)
Special free shuttle buses for the Reblochon Festival, departing from the bus station to Le Bossonnet:
• Every 20 minutes from 9:00 a.m. to 1:20 p.m.
• Every 20 minutes from 3:00 p.m. to 6:40 p.m.
