What to do before skiing ?

A little patience before the return of winter and skiing! Here’s everything you need to know to keep yourself busy in La Clusaz until the first snowflakes fall and the slopes open. Practical information, cultural activities, sports and well-being, not forgetting restaurants and shops, we’ve got it all covered!

The information below has been collected from service providers and tourist sites on a given date. The Tourist Office cannot be held responsible for any changes and invites you to contact the service providers or sites directly for final confirmation.

We are open every day except Sundays and public holidays (with the exception of the “braderie des commerçants”), from 9am to 12pm and from 2pm to 5pm.

From 13 to 17/11/2023: We are closed to the public, but can be reached by telephone and e-mail from Monday to Friday at the same times.

A fun, modern museographic space on the themes of Reblochon cheese, the history of the resort and the evolution of skiing, in the heart of a heritage site featuring a traditional chalet, old granaries, a communal oven and an old sawmill.

Hiking:
Information from the Tourist Office.
Comprehensive topo-guide to hiking trails on sale for €5, themed guides “Balades en famille” and “Randonnées sportives incontournables” on sale for €3 from the Tourist Office.
The Virées en Aravis geo-guidance application, downloadable free of charge from Apple and Google Store, includes some of the summer hikes.

Climbing:
Falaise-école des Aravis in La Clusaz and various sites in the Aravis, open access depending on snow conditions. Topo available for consultation at the Tourist Office, on sale at the Maison de la Presse (impasse du mini-golf).
Supervision available through the Bureau des Guides (Fred De Wargny : 06 14 11 58 68).

Cycling (road bikes) : numerous passes and circuits nearby. Col de la Colombière closed from November 11th.

Natural sites to visit :
– Hameau des Confins (5 km above La Clusaz): lake, old chalets, walks…
– Col des Aravis (7 km above La Clusaz): panoramic views of Mont Blanc in fine weather, souvenir stores, restaurants, walks…
– Plateau de Beauregard: Plateau at an altitude of 1,600 m, with walks and views of the Aravis range. Access from La Croix Fry 7 km away, then walk to the plateau
