Quiz: What type of holidaymaker are you?

Now that you’ve put your bags down at La Clusaz, trained like champions before coming (your thighs are on fire), and are getting ready to hit the snowy slopes, we’ve put together a little quiz to find out which holidaymaker is hiding deep down inside you, because after all, it wasn’t us …

Q1: The departure is approaching and it’s high time to pack, but what do we take?

✯: My ski suitcase is always ready, I can leave at any time and I’m as well equipped as ever.

☐: I’m not taking anything, I’ll buy everything on the spot, it’s simpler

⛒: Oh no, I’ve forgotten the gloves again, I hope a sports shop will be open on the road….

Q2: Now that I’ve got everything, last check on the weather for the week ahead, will it be sunny?

⛒: I only check the weather on my smartphone, a safe bet

✯: The Météo Ciel website no longer holds any secrets for me

☐: I’ll go and ask at the Tourist Office when I arrive, they must know all about it …

Q3: Here we go, we’re mapping out the route, when we get to La Clusaz, it’s raining big flakes and the snow plough hasn’t been here yet, what do I do?

☐ : Pfff, I’ve still got my summer tyres on, but they’ll take it easy! Ah… well no, actually.

✯: I changed my winter tyres back in November, I’m a road pro!

⛒: Luckily I watched a tutorial on how to fit chains, a bit of elbow grease and I can get on!

Q4: Finally arrived at my destination! We’ve got the keys to our accommodation, we’ve put our suitcases down and we’re off to the ski hire?

⛒: I’ve had my habits for years, I take the same skis, to the same place, you don’t change a winning team

☐: This year I’m trying skates, apparently they’re great fun! And I’m not taking a helmet, it bothers me

✯: I’ve got my equipment, no need to hire, a real skier is always ready!

Q5: It’s not all that, but you still have to eat to build up your strength, who’s following me?

✯: Eating?! We’re wasting time. Off to the slopes, first come, first served

☐ I admit that a little raclette wouldn’t do any harm… Let’s go and have a look in the village!

⛒: A sandwich by the slopes is good enough, we’ll stop for a génépi later.

Q6: 2pm, isn’t it about time we got into our stride and went down 2-3 pistes?

☐ : Oula slowly, first we’ll digest and then we’ll see about that later, a little nap instead?

✯: I’ve been at it since 9am this morning, I’m in great shape!

⛒: All right, but quiet descents, eh? I don’t want to hurt myself!

Q7: 5pm, the end of the day, but the start of the evening. It’s time to entertain the kids a bit, why not go sledging?

⛒: We’ll hire sledges, but let’s try the yooner earlier, shall we? Apparently they love it here!

☐: Yeah … Isn’t that a bit dangerous?

✯: Let’s go for a run with our mates! Competitive spirit all the way

Q8: It’s après-ski time, but what are we going to do?

☐: Let’s head for the flat before heading out, shall we? A quick shower, a rest and off we go again.

⛒: Personally, since 4pm I’ve been at the high-altitude restaurant, music blasting and everyone dancing on the tables…

✯ : I don’t really care, we’ll just curl up by the fire and sort out the day’s photos for our Instagram post, and let our friends dream…

Q9: The aperitif’s over, how about a restaurant to round off the day?

⛒: Ah no, we’ll carry on at another bar, we’ll have a few boards

✯: We’ve had soup at the chalet, herbal tea and bed!

☐: Oh yes, I could do with a good meal this evening? Good food, a good bottle, and a big sleep when we get home!

Q10: Another wake-up call in the resort, the weather’s fine, the sun’s shining and the snow’s fresh, it’s a lovely day to start, shall we go?

✯: 8.45am, first at the start of the lifts, I want to make the first track

☐: We’ll drop the little ones off at the ski lesson and then we’ll be off in peace, I really want to see my kids skiing this morning!

⛒ : Cool cool Domi, we’ll have a leisurely breakfast and hit the slopes around 11am, it’s holidays!

You have a maximum of ⛒

Ski holidays are a must for you at least once a year. It’s the time to enjoy the slopes with your family, but also in the village restaurants and bars. You take your time all week, and the slogan is “no pressure except at arm’s length”.

You have a maximum of ✯

Ski aficionados, first up, last in, for you this is THE week you’ve been waiting for since the first snows. Black runs, red runs, hiking, snowshoeing, yooner, you do it all, every day. You go to bed early in the evening so that you’re in good shape the next day, so it’s a great week for sport.

You have a maximum of ☐

This is the first time you’ve spent a whole week on the slopes with your family and young children, so the organisation leaves a bit to be desired but can only get better! We enjoyed the whole week, savouring it, watching the children discover the joys of skiing, taking in the breathtaking scenery and not forgetting to treat ourselves in the good restaurants in the village. A week full of memories!

Whether you’re an expert, a novice or just here to enjoy the scenery, everyone is welcome at La Clusaz. We love having you here and getting to know you. So welcome to our home!
