Details

It is thanks to a subscription opened by Reverend Pollet, the parish priest, that this chapel exists. It was following the terrible frost that, on the night of September 2nd to 3rd, 1833, destroyed the entire wheat and potato harvest, that this chapel was founded and dedicated.

During processions, parishioners came to pray for good weather.

It is dedicated to the Forty Martyrs (of Sebaste in the year 320), Saint John the Evangelist, and Saint John the Baptist.

A beautiful painting depicting the Forty Martyrs was donated in 1841 by Marie Granger, widow of Gay Durand, and painted by Henri de Berzen.

The beautiful bell dates from 1867 and was made by the Paccard Brothers.

The roof was covered with wooden shingles in 1986 by local craftsmen and neighbors from the hamlet of Les Confins.
