Throughout the seasons, mountain pastures are covered with wildflowers, some of which have medicinal or culinary uses. Alpine species can also be found here, such as the round-leaved sundew<\/strong>, a small carnivorous plant found in certain wetland areas.<\/p>\n

Mountain pastures play a key role in this ecological balance. Carefully maintained through traditional local farming practices, they help preserve open landscapes and support a rich plant biodiversity that is an essential part of the mountain\u2019s identity.<\/p>\n

Today, this biodiversity remains fragile. Tourism development, certain infrastructure projects and climate change are disrupting natural habitats. With rising temperatures and decreasing snowfall, some species are struggling to adapt.<\/p>\n

In response to these challenges, biodiversity conservation is a priority. Protected Natura 2000 areas have been established in particular to safeguard the black grouse and other sensitive species of both fauna and flora. Despite these measures, 81 species are currently considered threatened<\/strong> within the municipality.<\/p>\n
