Two people of La Clusaz at Vancouver Winter Olympics

Among the 108 french athletes flying to Vancouver, two La Clusaz natives !

Vincent Vittoz will go on for his 4th Olympics. This nordic ski champion has a great list of awards : World Champion 30 kms pursuit in Obersdorf 2005, four times World military champion in 1999, 2003, 2007 and 2008, 41 times France champion, selected for Nagano in 1998, Salt Lake City in 2002 and Turin in 2006. He will appear in 4 contests : free 15 km, pursuit 30 km (15 km classic then 15 km free), relay 4 x 10 km classic/free and 50 km classic.

 

For the first time, Mirabelle Thovex will take part. This young snowboarder got her ticket for the greatest event ever. After 16 participations to Half Pipe Snowboard World Cup and one victory as France champion in 2009 in Risoul, she is going to discover the Games. At just 18, Mirabelle Thovex will run on february 18th in the Half pipe.
